A Glorious Journey of Fifty Years
Fifty years ago, when English-medium education was still a rare privilege in this part of Kodagu, Lourdes Hill Convent School stood as an important educational institution in the Pollibetta region. Its reputation gradually spread, and families from near and far placed their trust in Lourdes for the education of their children.
The growing demand for quality English-medium education led the surrounding communities to seek the school's upgradation to the High School level. The Bishop of Mysore took up this request with the Mother General, while Tata Coffee, then known as Consolidated Coffee, also strongly supported the initiative. Their efforts reflected the growing educational needs of the region and the confidence placed in Lourdes Hill Convent School.
The school responded by expanding its educational mission. What began as a humble endeavour developed into a centre of knowledge, discipline, values and excellence.
Across five decades, generations of teachers have dedicated themselves to shaping young minds. Students have brought distinction to their alma mater through achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. Many alumni have gone on to distinguished positions in different walks of life, contributing meaningfully to society and the nation.
From its humble beginnings in 1976 to its Golden Jubilee in 2026, Lourdes Hill Convent School continues its journey with the same enduring spirit: nurturing minds, moulding hearts, inspiring dreams and empowering generations to serve with knowledge, integrity and compassion.

Through 2026 the school marks its Golden Jubilee with celebrations that gather every generation of the Lourdes Hill family.
Inaugural Mass
The Jubilee year opens with thanksgiving in the school chapel, joined by the sisters, staff and students.
Alumni Homecoming
Five decades of students return to the hill for a day of memory, music and reunion.
Cultural Festival
A Kodagu-rooted celebration of dance, drama and song staged across the quadrangle.
Closing Ceremony
The Golden Jubilee is sealed with the planting of fifty trees along the campus path.
